Bill Hummel created the topic: HORSES JUMPING OVER A CORD
Hi Everyone,

Having a great time at the ACD Meet / Palo Alto Concours this weekend. It's going on now!

Here's a strange photo that we saw today at lunch on the wall at Buck's Restaurant in Woodside California.

LOTS of photos to post at the end of the meet tomorrow.

Bill Hummel replied the topic: MORE PHOTOS OF ALICE SISTY
Turns out ALICE SISTY was one of several famous Cowgirls making the Rodeo Circuit in the 40's. This particular rodeo star received top billing with the likes of Gene Autry. Alice apparently liked to jump over a Cord Phaeton.

(I'd like to see her try to clear my Custom Beverly...)

Here are some more photos: Even Conoco got in on the action.

Jack Richard replied the topic: Prints available at Cowboy Museum
Here is the link to the National Cowboy Museum which has a lot of photo archives, including prints of Ralph Doubleday's rodeo photographs. This link is a search of those photos of Alice Sisty's rodeo jumps, mainly over the poor dented Cord, but also other vehicles!

In the book the trainer lets some one use his cord convertable for a publicity stunt (Before a race), the car did get damaged during this stunt.
