Mike my friend in India assures me that his guys have been wearing top quality respirators for quite a while now. Progress is slow but it is moving in the right direction.

Mike the working conditions are a world away from what we are used to.
I made a comment about the guys wearing safety boots after seeing the attached picture. I was told most of the workers had never worn shoes in their lives. It takes a lot of work to change a culture.
They do remarkable work with rudimentary tools. The aluminium sill panels come up shining and are a good fit.

Notice the painter has no mask. Not a long-life decision!

Remarkable Cord Restoration In India was created by Terry Cockerell
A few year ago I had the privilege of helping a guy in India restore an 810 Westchester in record time. The body had been stripped ready for the sheet metal repairs to begin in October. As the work progressed I asked if there was a deadline as the work was progressing at a frantic rate. The answer was yes for a major show in the following February. Well it was completed on time as well as six other different makes of cars and all for the same show. Everything is done in house so there are no bottle necks to hinder progress. It is amazing what those guys can do. A few details on the Cord were not done quite right and that was more my fault such as the anti glare strips on the windshields should have been red rather than yellow but that is an easy fix. Red and yellow was strictly not an original 1936 colour combination but what the heck it looks stunning. Any maharajah worth his salt would be happy to give the elephant a miss and climb into the fabulous Cord.
