What do you collect?

[size=75:2qlmcplq]If this post isn't fitting for the forum, feel free to remove it; just thought it would be a good ice breaker to find out what members have things in common that may or may not already know each other.[/size:2qlmcplq]

Hi DJ, Collecting is so much fun. I am sure everybody who likes old cars shares your passion.

I cant say I collect Galaxies but I did own a 61 and it still had the clear plastic hood ornaments but the car was only about eight years old then.

I like to collect cameras. They are very inexpensive and very interesting. The only problem there is lack of film, SX70, polaroid, etc. Even Kodak is in trouble.

Then I also like old stereo equiptment. I have boxs of eight tracks and cassettes. I like old car radios and tube radios and Victrolas. It seems if you save something long enough it comes back around. I hope the Lazer disk comes back as I have saved a few of the large disks but i only have one player.

I like to collect old hand tools and many of the old test equiptment for our old cars. I like the old floor and screw jacks and they really are not expensive. You can collect interesting things without spending a fortune. It is also fun to restore things.

I bought an apple peeler years ago and the kids loved it. I just saw one like it on TV show Ricks restoration and the teacher spent 600 to show it to school kids. They also loved it, I am sure they never saw anything so old work so well.

I even saved a water bottle with Michael Jordons picture on it.

I still have my 286 computer built to 486 with 32 megs memory and a few RGB displays, and yes, I think I do need professional help.

Outside of directly automotive-related stuff like books and literature:

Auburn Rubber toys - In a small, non-serious way - I prefer them red, rubber, made in Auburn, and in "played with" condition. Pristine toys depress me...it's like a car that never got driven.

Cookbooks - I think I have close to 400. Cooking/baking is my other hobby, outside of ACD.

I might have an old camera or 2 laying around that you can have come next September

I like old car radios and tube radios and Victrolas.

I have a monopoly on 1966 AM radios for Ford Galaxie if you ever need one.... :rolleyes:thought I was bidding on a AM/FM and it was only an AM and I already owned 2 of them at the time.

I don't have my ?86 anymore, can't remember what it was now. It had a 40mb hard drive. I remember it getting 1/2 full and I would worry about running out of room. I now have a 1.5tb drive and a 1tb external.

Apparently I still collect ACD Festival stuff....... wasn't aware of it tho.
