Get yourself over to the MAPS museum at the Akron Canton Regional Airport. They have a WACO. If you haven't been there, its well worth a visit anyway.

As an aside, I had a ride in WACO a number of years ago, when I was an "airport bum" working on a private pilot license. The pilot did aerobatics for about 45 minutes over the Portage Lakes. What a ride!

Merdina is most recognizable to me, as the birthplace of the famous Waco Aircraft Company. the evolution of this most successful and influential company went from Weaver to Advance to Waco Aircraft and went from Medina to Lorraine to Troy Ohio. I have a LOT of those original company archives, dwgs, files, photos historic documents as part of MY aviation history collections. The files are also filled with many letters from very famous aviators and aviation company presidents and history makers.
Weaver was only in Medina from 1921-23 and moved to Lorraine in 1924. One of the main Medina items is the Weaver company bank account book with all the wages paid and income and expenses noted for those early years. Very amusing to see 60-70 hour weeks and noting pay raises in amounts as small as 2 1/2 cents!

Very interesting, I have a lot of historical Medina materials but had never heard of Waco Aircraft.

I collect prewar automotive literature and photos. I'll take a photo of a prewar car taken up to the early 60s. I concentrate on the cars I like so I have a ton of prewar Mercedes, with a bunch of Stutz, ACD, Hupp, Graham, and big Classics stuff thrown in.

I will buy photo albums if anyone has one to sell :)

eBay is great but I found myself setting the market for the stuff I was buying. Ten years ago I was the only guy buying certain prewar photos. If there was a photo I really wanted I paid the price (which was usually never more than 5 dollars). There was never anyone bidding against me. However, by paying the rate I had set the price which gradually seemed to go up even through there were no other bidders. These days there are a bunch of guys that will go after a really good prewar taken photo. Of course, certain guys go for certain kids of cars.

I collect models of Cord Westchesters. (Duh.) Not as easy as you might think, since most commercial models are Phaetons and Cabriolets.

Includes:
- A 1/24th scale model of my sedan that Betty commissioned for me from a local modeler as a surprise birthday present. Uses some Monogram parts but a completely scratch-built body and interior.
- A 1/33rd scale bronze Commemorative Cord from the ACD Club's project of a few years ago.
- A 1/33rd scale pewter model by Gerald Wingrove.
- A 1/33rd scale Auburn rubber toy. (Yes Chris, it's red and used.)
- 2 1/48th scale MTIs (Westborough MA) from the 1970s. One in raw pewter, the other painted by the factory to match my car. (Cord #4 -- pre-Moonshadow.) My Cord was the prototype for this car, done when I lived in the area.
- A buch of Hot Wheels with varying colors and decals. One was custom painted to match Moonshadow by my friend Adrian Grieve. Adrian made correct Cord hubcaps for it too.
- A 1/87th (HO scale) resin kit. (unbuilt)
- A 1/24th scale resin body hood and fenders, intended to convert the Monogram supercharged Phaeton to an unsupercharged Westchester.

Ain't eBay wonderful?

I used to collect pictures of dead presidents. Got tired of the collection and traded it for a Cord 812.

I have a problem with spray guns and air compressors.
Real guns are also addictive.
31' Buick parts for spares and literature
Early 90's ATK dirtbikes and parts.
Old John Deere tractors.
I also collect firewood every fall and seem to lose it all winter. Then start over the next year. It's a never ending collection but at least it's my cheapest.

When we were kids, my grandma got us started "collecting". I decided that I wanted to collect Black Amethyst. I based this decision on a piece that my grandma already had. I liked that when the light shows through the "black" looking glass it looks purple. Black Amethyst is a glass that was made in the 1920s and 30s, which also fits my taste in cars. It is also interesting that variations of it were even made through the 80s - not my favorite automotive era! I now have so much of it that I can't even display all of it. I love that most of it was given to me by my grandparents for Christmas and birthdays. I love to use it for special occasions and decorating during the holidays.

I also have a large collection of "event" posters from shows that I have attended over the years. These are fun to look back through every once and awhile.

Well there are :

34-36 Auburn parts
34-36 Auburn literature and factory manuals
Auburn tools, clocks etc.
Old gas pumps back to 1904
Old gas and auto related signs ( you can't be seen from outer space if you don't have at least 100)
Oil company promotional mini banks
Gas globes
1950's toy John Deere tractors and implements
7Up OLD bottles and promotilal stuff, coolers etc.
A complete set of Chevrolet hood ornments 1927-1956

I have an eclectic mix of diecast cars: All scales, many ACD, some Ford, a few Packards, and a lot of everything else. I also seem to collect a lot of junk of all types, at least that's what the better half calls it.

I might have an old camera or 2 laying around that you can have come next September

I like old car radios and tube radios and Victrolas.

I have a monopoly on 1966 AM radios for Ford Galaxie if you ever need one.... thought I was bidding on a AM/FM and it was only an AM and I already owned 2 of them at the time.

I still have my 286 computer built to 486 with 32 megs memory and a few RGB displays, and yes, I think I do need professional help.

I don't have my ?86 anymore, can't remember what it was now. It had a 40mb hard drive. I remember it getting 1/2 full and I would worry about running out of room. I now have a 1.5tb drive and a 1tb external.

Apparently I still collect ACD Festival stuff....... wasn't aware of it tho.

Outside of directly automotive-related stuff like books and literature:

Auburn Rubber toys - In a small, non-serious way - I prefer them red, rubber, made in Auburn, and in "played with" condition. Pristine toys depress me...it's like a car that never got driven.

Cookbooks - I think I have close to 400. Cooking/baking is my other hobby, outside of ACD.

Hi DJ, Collecting is so much fun. I am sure everybody who likes old cars shares your passion.

I cant say I collect Galaxies but I did own a 61 and it still had the clear plastic hood ornaments but the car was only about eight years old then.

I like to collect cameras. They are very inexpensive and very interesting. The only problem there is lack of film, SX70, polaroid, etc. Even Kodak is in trouble.

Then I also like old stereo equiptment. I have boxs of eight tracks and cassettes. I like old car radios and tube radios and Victrolas. It seems if you save something long enough it comes back around. I hope the Lazer disk comes back as I have saved a few of the large disks but i only have one player.

I like to collect old hand tools and many of the old test equiptment for our old cars. I like the old floor and screw jacks and they really are not expensive. You can collect interesting things without spending a fortune. It is also fun to restore things.

I bought an apple peeler years ago and the kids loved it. I just saw one like it on TV show Ricks restoration and the teacher spent 600 to show it to school kids. They also loved it, I am sure they never saw anything so old work so well.

I even saved a water bottle with Michael Jordons picture on it.

I still have my 286 computer built to 486 with 32 megs memory and a few RGB displays, and yes, I think I do need professional help.
