I lived in the St. Charles/Geneva are for many years and got into the history of the locals. Even though a lot of info was available on Mr. Baker, his race horses and the hotel, I never read anything about ANY of his cars. You're right, that must have been quite a sight in what was then a nice farm/tourist town. By the way, my last house in St Charles...I bought it from the widow of (allegedly) the most decorated WW2 vet in Kane County.

I pass the Baker Hotel in St.Charles,IL about 3 times a week and can't help but visualize the 1932 Murphy Beverly Berline (car2489 J-468 originally bought buy E.J. Baker) out front of the Hotel every time I pass buy. WOW what a sight this must have been!! Man I was born 50 years to late! We can't have everything.
