We have been embroidering the ACD club shirts that are purchased at Auburn each fall. We can do coveralls on request depending on the logo that is wanted. Give us a call and we will try to help.

I have been toying with the idea of a couple of sets of "Forever Cord" coveralls, that would be tan (actually "Palm Beach Tan" to match my car) for shows and meets.

But as any race fan knows - the patches on such coveralls all make statements about the person wearing them, and their involvement with the community.

I would highly recommend a "CORD HAVEN" patch, in exchange for a suitable donation to either the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum, and/or the website itself.

I think it is not beyond the bounds of reason to look into a similar patch for ACD Club Members (stating the year - or LIFETIME membership) (ATTN: Treasurer of the ACD Club) [u:2srejj6l]for a small fee[/u:2srejj6l], or persuant to a membersfee adjustment - depending on what is thought about it.
I assume the costs of the club, and therefore also membership, are occasionally adjusted to match modern costs....
(And it could also be an "option" on the membership form)

- There could easily be an optional area added to the ACD CLUB website for "Members Only" offering such merchandise. Although being membership based items - I would think they would be priced as favorably to the members as possible.

These are very valid areas to explore. Why should we NOT be exclusive?

I will be happy to look into getting some high-quality patches made up if no one else has.

There could be a small size for CAPS and fronts of COVERALLS. There could be a big size for the backs of coveralls and Duffelbags, etc.

I am used to seeing patches of all different sizes since I do a lot with the Boy Socuts. They have very high quality patches for everything!

As far as getting an AUBURN AUTOMOBILE CO patch made, just like the real workers wore on the backs of their coveralls, I am a little afraid to pursue that.

[i:2h2jpqm1]JOSH MALKS, do you have a picture of the worker's coveralls that you could send me? I think I saw one in your book, Cord: The Timeless Classic.[/i:2h2jpqm1]

There is so much question about who owns what trademark, that I am sure someone would take a legal shot at me.

I would think that selling individual patches would be the only way to go. You could try selling complete coveralls but ensuring a good fit is hard. For the last pair I bought, the size was quite a bit different from brand to brand - and some just didn't fit right.

I'd say the main drawback is that the patch won't look as good. But it could be removed and resewn on another set of coveralls. In college we could purchase coats for the local car club. One option was to have the back custom embroidered with the schools coat of arms - I think it was around $50.

If someone had a good shop locally that could do custom embroidery they could develop a pattern, decide on cost, and have it on file. Then anyone wanting it put on coveralls, jacket, etc. could buy the clothing and ship it in to have the work done.

The coveralls I've seen previously (custom made) were simple letters spelling out the respective names: Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg. If I remember correctly, the font was different with each. There weren't any graphics on them.

I would like to know if the ACD Club has ever offered Coveralls or Shopcoats?

I would like to get some, with the logo as shown or a Great BIG logo on the back.

Does anyone know if these have ever been offered? Maybe it would be better to have several different sized patches made up and let members sew them on their own coveralls?

Does anyone have any info or ideas on this?
