Never looked under it. I don't think it hurt the car. Most people go to truck transmissions to get over drive. They have the lever tied open, and running it strictly electric.

Bill, two questions:

1. Could you post a picture of the setup? Sounds pretty cool.


2. You guys didn't look under the car before you bought it? If not , I've been there too as I once bought a car at an auction without opening the hood (I blame my dad).

I had a bit of a surprise when I looked under the car. Someone has cut into the drive shaft just in front of the differential flange. They took out about a fifteen inch chunk and installed an electric overdrive. I don't know which owner may have done it, but it is pretty cool.
