In restored cars you are probably just seeing more Lyon type two-piece metal sidemount tire covers - worth peoples effort to go out of the way and break bank to find a set.

That is an original factory/sales photograph question, though they would match the top on really any production L-29. I assume they are an option in an option brochure. Here is pictures of a set on a Phaeton. Also, I added a Cabriolet
