I will try one way or another to fix the aluminum lip, however If you can help with a picture I will appreciate it.
Also on the screws that go there, are they special?
Thanks ahead,
Aris

Sadly you probably need to replace this cover. Be cautious too because Cord made two different style covers and they are left and right side. I'm not sure this aluminum is weldable because of the low grade metal way back then. I have a spare but not sure what style yours is. Needs more internal pictures.

Hi all!

Working on details overdue for too long, I’m now restoring and aligning the headlights on my Phaeton.

I've reshaped the metal buckets so they fit well in place with their two flat side screws, but I am at a loss what to do with the third screw that goes on the top, through the lip of the aluminum cover.

A lot of damage has been done previously on that spot and I don’t know how to restore it. (picture attached)

Here are my questions:
1. How is the lip of the aluminum top cover shaped at that place? Is there a flange or other fitting that goes there, or just a hole on the aluminum?
2. Are the smaller top screws specially formed (like the side ones) so they just touch the paint without ruining it?

Any pictures would help a lot!

Thanks Ahead,
Aris
