Cam & Crank Gear was created by 1748 S
Yesterday I tried the new crank gear and slightly used Whitney cam gear I purchased from Felix. I really had a difficult time removing the crank gear that was oem from way back when the engine was made up. Used a little heat and grew the gear enough to get it removed. I kept the temp below 250 degrees F. I was surprised at how tight the new gear was and the very small lead fit. But some 1000 grip wet and dry plus some anti sieze with heat made the installation happen. I did have to do the install in steps because of the heat transfer to the crank shaft. Add some press force and warm up the gear and "feel" it ease on the shaft. Allow it to cool and redo same. Now trying the old Whitney chain on the new gears was not what I wanted to see. I definitely need a new chain. So I'm going to purchase a chain soon and test fit that. Hopefully I can now post pics...
