Bushing clearance seems to vary according to the engineer. We use .002. Bearings are .005. If it was me, I would say your .012 bushings are indeed worn and I would aim for .002-.005.

Can anyone tell me the clearance of the bushing on the outer universal joint to the rotating shaft. I have measured .I have measured around 12 thousands clearance on what I have. Thats a used bushing too. Can't find what a new bushing clearance is. Thanks everyone for any answers.
