Hi,
A thought just occurred to me: in how many Brand-X auto forums could someone mention "my clutch stick," and EVERYONE: 1) understands what he means, and, 2) has one in his car?
Today is the Buick Club National Meet 5 miles down the road from me. I'll bet there's not a "clutch stick" in the entire show. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->
{EDIT: The Buick National Meet is being held in gorgeous weather in South Bend. I just drove the 5 miles up the road to home from the event. Seems like not a lot of cars for a national meet, though. The turnout at Auburn is MUCH larger.}

Thanks everyone,
I jacked it up, placed my cluth stick on the clutch pedal,
and stuck a knife up into the clutch to free it up and it worked.
WOW that was easy.

Given the weak second gear I wouldn't put it in second and don't think putting the brakes on hard is a good idea. First I would take off the cover and check the gears to see if they were damaged. There are better ways to free the clutch disc. Get under the car and take off the cover to get into the clutch. I would have someone hold the clutch down and work the disc free. God luck!

I have heard there are 29,816 parts to one of these cords. Most of mine came ups..... and didn't fit

I did this once-jack the car up in front=put it in 2 manually-then start it up and rev it up-push clutch in and jam on brakes. make a awful noise and then comes free-good luck it worked for me on a car that had been sitting for many years Carlton

It has been sitting to long in a humid , hot and cold building.
It will work just fine when you get it freed. You do not want to put any oil on it for then it will chatter something terrible.
Drive your car more often and you will have far less problems.
my 2 cents Ken

Help!
I went to start my '37 and when I push in the clutch to start the car the whole car moved. It shouldn't move when the clutch is depressed.
Then the car started and the transmission made some incredibly awful
crunching noises because the gears were grinding or something. anyway I hope I didn't ruin the tranny.
Anyone know what is wrong ?
It seems that the clutch is not actually disengaged even when the pedal is depressed. It's always something. It seems I can never drive my car because
there is always a problem.
Thank You,
Randy Freeman
