I seem to recall that the car was used in an Amelia Earhart film or telefilm, hence the confusion.

The Amelia Earhart Cord was a 1937 Cord 812 Phaeton. It was not supercharged.
Ray Foster, who owns it, is currently restoring it.
My Phaeton is currently in storage also waiting for restoration. It is parked right next to the Amelia Earhart Phaeton.
I can assure you it was NOT a Cabriolet and it was NOT supercharged.

With brakes, two cylinders are better than one.

Hi,
The article calls it a 1936, but it has 1937 side pipes. A simple error? Or has someone passed one off?

I came across this today but I always thought Amelia's Cord was a Phaeton;
Amelia Earhart 1936 Cord 810 Sportsman cabriolet. A well-known marque but rare and this was an excellent car, and has an interesting history being originally owned by George Putnam, husband of Amelia Earhart, and is painted 'Eleanor Blue' due to her friendship with Eleanor Roosevelt. It has been in Australia since 1991, and recently appeared in the Tom Hanks WWII tv series "The Pacific". ?LINK TO V I D E O / www.abc.net.au/local/videos/2011 ... 257534.htm
