Full flow oil filter mod

I used a liberal amount of Permatex threadlocker, the RED automotive grade, when I put in the allen headed set screw. I also ran a narrow punch down the bore and buggered the threads, it can't back out now. Good luck,you'll be glad you did this modification.

Thanks for the info. Did you have a drawing of just the adapter for the machine shop or use the mod drawing. Any type of steel will work?

The mod drawing shows a triangle object at the end of the adapter. Is that just showing the end of the bit and how deep to drill?

The drawing doesn't show it but I would think the adapter should be long enough to enter the oil galley slightly and prevent the set screw from backing out. I know it is probably not needed but I like to be very safe.

These are made from steel stock. I made (4) a few years ago and have used them up already. I think the machine shop charged me $25.00 each.

I plan to do this mod but have a question. The drawing calls out a "3/8 NPT adapter" that is threaded into the block. Is this a standard part or custom made? From the look of the part, I was thinking of using brass 3/8 NPT to barbed hose adapter. Turning it down and threading the hose barb.
Any help, hints or guesses appreciated.
