Original sun visors had a chrome plated plug to close the open end. It doesn't need to be removed. The visor can be pulled off while holding the other end of the bar in a vice (pad to protect the chrome). The rod is probably bent some to tension the visor so that it does not fall down when you want it to stay in the up position.

as much i remember you can pull the rod of the visor, which might be taff since the rod is most likley bend and corroded, but i would have to take a look at mine to be sure since it was two years ago when i took them apart.
so hopefully some member will either correct me or confirm my thought. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

The more i know, the more i realize that i don't know enough.

I want to change the rod/bracket on my sun visors (Westchester). There is a small rubber insert at the far end of the current visor, at the tip of the rod.

Do I simply remove this rubber insert and then carefully pull the rod out of the visor and insert the new rod / replace the rubber insert (or like most things Cord, is there some tricky thing that you have to do) ?

Thanks !
