Dennis & Jim, The best removal tool that I have found is a carpenter's straight claw finishing hammer. Start opposite the valve stem. Place the round head end just in the cap hole enough to catch the cap, pad the claw
end to protect the rim, pry back the handle & work your way around & pop the cap off. This works. Henry

Hi Dennis,
The easiest way is to have freshly chromed hubcaps, remove the zip ties, polish them up real good, then go for a ride...one or two pot holes will pop them right off. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

Seriously, the best way is with the "modern" hub cap removal tools NOT the originals. The ones most of us use "hook" the hub cap thru one of the holes and uses leverage off the tire to pop it off. If you don't have one of these tools try George A. he reproduces them.

Some hub caps are very hard to remove, I've found you just need to try different areas around the hub cap till it pops. If it's that hard you can bend the spring clips out a little to make it easier to remove the next time. But Keep the zip ties on when you're going down the road.

By the way are you still planning on joining us for the Cord Convoy?
