As the tale goes, the 810-812's window handles were originally designed for some other car, and subsequently dressed up with the large flat deco-style knobs for application to the Cord. Any one know? Never have I heard just which car they were originally intended for.
BUT....AS FOR THE OUTSIDE HANDLES, listen up. At the Winchester, Va. AACA show Saturday, there was a "time capsule" unmolested all original low mileage '36 Nash in the flea market. It was obviously a car that had never fallen into bad hands, or been altered in any way. The outside door handles , the part you grab that is, I found to be IDENTICAL TO THE 810-812 CORD'S! I missed this if previously discovered. So there's another potential parts source. Ha! Unfortunately, in my opinion, the '36 Nash was the winner of the "ugliest car contest" in 1936. Consequently, most of the 33,000 or so of them haven't survived for us to pick parts from.
