Early cars used the small windows. You would expect a large window on late 810 and most 812 Phaetons. 812 Cabriolets could still have small windows.

It has always been my understanding that the Cabriolets have the small backlights. The bigger one for the Phaeton must be to equalize visibility, as the backlight is further from the rearview mirror.

Is it possible that only the '36/'37 Cord convertible coup? ( sportsman ) had the small size rear window and the Phaeton had only the large rear window ?
Maybe somebody can tell me how to identifye which is right for each bodystyle. No doubt manny small rear windows have ben exchanged for a large window.

your answer is gratley aprisiated, since my friend and i made a bet. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->
