This week I replaced the 215/75R16's with 225's from Diamondback. Since I have the Custom Beverly, my rear fenders are slightly higher and I don't have any tire-rubbing that has bothered other cars.

The guys at Diamondback really were great to work with.

I also went with the slightly wider Whitewall, which looks great to me.

I have to quickly clarify one thing, as oldbanger71 got something really wrong!

I have NO HEAVY DUTY WHEELS for sale. I am looking myself to get some good heavy duty wheels and also my knowledge on radials and wheel/tire problems is very limited. There are a quite a few ACD club members which have a lot of experience with radial tires and know much more about wheel issues. Please search the forum and you may find some important info.

I can only tell you about the sizes of Radial Tires that are used on Cords 810/812: normally people use 215/75/R16 (whitewalls from Diamond Back, etc.). I have 205/75/R16 on my Cord. Some are also using Coker 6.50RX16 whitewalls.

If you pm me I can e-mail you an article on the use of radial tires on classic cars which was written by Josh Malks and was published in the ACD Newsletter 2003/3

I know that a set of new heavyduty wheels are for sale from Mr. von Allmen / VACO, you might try him first. He has Radials on his and has put much thinking in alternatives.
go:? search ? and then put in the first field: ?Mario von Allmen ? and then look in the list under contributor for : ?vaco?

I work for foxmotorsports and I am a lifetime fan of the 810-812 Cord.I how have a 1937 812 s/c phaeton to take care of. All the cars in my care get driven. This cord has a Tire vibration/tramp above 50 mph. I checked the balance on a road force balancer and we need tires. I would like to keep this set of tires for show and use some radials for driving as some members have talked about. Are reproduction wheels available? Also what size radial tires would you recomend? Thanks Bob Kolenda
