Philipp, The left picture is a electric fuel pump NOT original to car . Right picture has oil dip stick, front of engine oil collector for crank slinger ring (mounts on engine block) & oil pump & distributor drive assembly . OK ? Henry

Hi Balinwire,
i hang on to the license plate KAX 514 because it was last registered in the USA with that and corresponds with the title. In Switzerland i'll have to register it to a swiss plate anyway to run but can display with KAX 514 if i get it back, on the other hand i could get a 1937 plate set just for display on meetings.
As my car is a basket case i trie to find out what is what and which is SC or standard as per original it was a SC but the engine was swaped for a standard and installed some SC-parts to it.

What i have is :

a Custom Beverly body with 810 gloveboxdoors, outside palmbeachtan / inside deep red with fabrik and sunvisors. No Tags. but likley C 105 171.

Stubframe currentley 1482 A ( 482 ) fitted to the shell.
( belonges originaly to Westchester 810 1482 A / FB 516 / C 90 585 )

Currentley Engine FB 1811 is fitted to the stubframe
( orignialy belonged to 812 1662 S Beverly Bustleback )

Original SC-Engine should be FC 2625 which corresponds with
ID number 812 310121 S.

So what we beleve is, that we have car no 812 310121 S / Body C 105 171 with originaly Engine FC 2625 and stubframe 121 S ) .
Stubframe and engine was replaced by stubframe 1482 A and engine FB 1811 pus some remaining parts of the FC-engine.

That's where we are now.

here i add some pic's of parts i would like to have identified if correct and Sc or not '36 or '37, and what they are.
If anyone can give answers, i'll be most gratefull for that.
My goal is to have it restored in about 10 years time, as at the moment i still have other cars to finish the restauration and this will be my privat car. To me it doesn't matter how long it takes, important is that restauration will happen and in a very high standard. So will keep on asking Questions.

Pic's to follow shortley

More are to come.

The black plates were used for years during the sixties, there were millions of them all around and they seemed boring. When the blue plates arrived I swapped for the new blue ones, seems silly nowadays. The 1973-year was probably the last year yours was registered.
I purchased a car in 1984 that still had the black plates and re-registered them for another four years till I sold it. The black ones looked out of place by the eighties they were only on one owner cars.
The fifties California plates were a yellow shade and are quite pricey. I bought a car that had them and I did not know that they do not require you to surrender them when transferring title. I asked the desk clerk and she said I had to turn them in which I did. She jacked me for the plates. I really missed them as there was a companion key chain tag from AAA that had the numbers, I may still have it around somewhere.
California did not require you to change plates every five years as in some other places in the USA.
You will be able to find another set with similar numbers.
My car was from Swiss and I wanted an old Swiss plate to hang from the small license plate mounting plate holes drilled wide for the EU plate in the front bumper brackets.
I just used the repop license plate bracket and a 37 plate.
Was your car title registered as a 37? Be careful how you title it, errors seem to be difficult to correct.
Is there a Swiss plate on it now? Is there a picture of the timing chain housing; is the engine in the chassis for us to see?

Good idea, thanks for your hint, tom.
I could have it replaced by a new made up but it's not the same.

The more i know, the more i realize that i don't know enough.

Look for it on EBay twice a week. That's where it's most likely to show up.

Unfortunatley, when my new '37 Cord Custom Beverly was transported from New Orleans to Switzerland, somewhere in between the licenseplate : California KAX 514 has got lost or stolen from my car.
As it's important to the ID of my car and means very mucht to me, i'm very disappointed about it's loss.
So if you come a cross the pictured licenseplate for sale or other, please, please let me know!
If i can get it back, i'll reward you.<!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt=":cry:" title="Crying or Very sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->
