Thank you for the info Henry. My dad always referred to these wheel covers as being the real McCoy although clearly not all that they should be. It was a shoulder-shrugging acceptance on his part.

Tom , The "factory" in Auburn had these made & was selling them in 1948 for $20 a set (4) . That is when I got my first Cord , an 812 Westchester that was originally ruby maroon metallic color . 31631F Henry

When my dad bought the renumbered 37 Westchester (dubbed "Gray Ghost") back in 1950, he ordered and bought a set of new chromed wheel covers that appear to match Cord profile, but which have no holes in them. I still have them, but years ago I bought new wheel covers WITH holes in them. I always believed that the "unholy" ones were an early club-member's attempt to provide needed reproduction parts, but now I am not so sure. Does anyone have information on these 1950 replacement wheel covers?

Restoration is in its 59th on-going year. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->
