Jim Lawrence from California runs a 4 lb. system. He uses an overflow tank from a 1960's Volvo. He never adds water and it seems to not heat up as much in traffic.

Need some help to determine if anyone has added a 4 lb pressure cap to a Cord radiator. It should raise boiling point significantly and increase effciency of system. Any concerns I should have? Unblown 288.6. What about hood clearance? I read somewhere that this was an appropriate modification to improve the cooling system in old cars.
