From my experiences, you need to make sure you are below 6 PSI fuel pressure. I use a NAPA in line fuel pump (Rotary w/filter) rated at 2-4 PSI. The other main concern is a leaking carb float. Many times they seem OK but eventually fill partial with gas and will no longer keep proper level.

My812 non supercharged cord tends to flood easily. Especially when hot. It presently has mechanical fuel pump w/o in line fuel pressure regulator. I believe the carb was recently rebuilt.
