Sigh--I suddenly feel discouraged. It has struck me that Amelia's Electra may be in better condition than my poor old Westchester...

The ultimate resting place of Earhart and her plane remains a hotly debated topic to this day.

Why don't they just get Amelia's phaeton for the movie. It is in Plano, Texas just north of Dallas. It is actually two cars now since the engine is in the second phaeton.

Club member Ray Foster owns them. I think he added pipes to one of them so that one is out.

Wasn't Amelia's a renumbered 810 in the factory, and if so built as a '36, during a time period before Cigarette Cream (pale yellow) was available on a Cord?Of course Cigarette Cream was available on A-852s, but her car must have been Palm Beach Tan or Ivory by my reckoning. We know she preferred yellow on her automobiles, though. How about it?

Hi! A friend of mine is supplying a '29 or '30 Packard phaeton for the shoot in downtown Toronto. He told me they had brought the Cord in from California. He told them there was one closer, mine. Asked me if I wanted to have my Cord in the pic too. Unfortunately it is still a few weeks away from having its rebirth party. I leave on July 25th for Seattle where I will be in the Pebble Beach Motoring Classic Tour. Then I will be enjoying all the events of and around the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. I am a participant and will be judged! I think I feel like Anthony Hopkins in the World's Fastest Indian. I sure am excited! When you get your poster from Kruse for the Auction, it's my Cord! I can't take much more! Ric.

I sold some old style white cotton herringbone coveralls a couple of weeks ago to the crew of a Curtiss Jenny that will have a part in this movie. Also talked with another party who will be furnishing some period equipment for this project.

Looking forward to seeing the show!

Amelia was created by Josh Malks
A fella named Henry Farronato just wrote me. He works at Toronto's Pearson airport where filming of the 2009 movie 'Amelia' is going on. They shot some aircraft footage there. The film stars Hilary Swank (as Amelia, no doubt) and Richard Gere. Gere shot some scenes driving producer Ted Waitt's yellow 1936 Cord phaeton. We may see Swank in or with it in other scenes.

So mark your calendars, film buffs. A Cord will star in another movie, with some famous people in supporting roles.
