Curt - I think you are right - the Ganges Green was originally for 1936
and the Cool Orchard Green on the 1937. Our information from the Auburn-Cord Color Schedule - Revised 6-1-36 (this info was found on
the internet at Restoration Shop - Quality Automotive Paint Products -
Phone 858-909-2110 (pacific time zone) - they specialize in antique car
paints. The Auburn-Cord Color Schedule shows among the 1936 Auburn
Colors - Cool Orchard Green (IM1670) and Ganges Green (IM-1672).
Sorry i don't have the link but you can probably do a search and find
their site.

We are leaning more toward the Cool Orchard Green for both the dash
and the exterior of our 36 SC Westchester 810 ( come to find out our
car is a rebirth from several 36 and 37 Cords that were previously
merged by another owner in Ohio) nevertheless, we could not be more
proud of our 'find'. As you probably know, the 36's were not originally
supercharged but we feel fortunate that this one has been modified with
the supercharger and feel so very blessed that we have one of the few
available.

Our plan, which may be shunned by more 'purist' members of the club,
is to do our interior in tan mohair upholstery and window trim, knobs on the window cranks and possibly steering wheel will be professionally hand painted wood-grain.

Our window trim is in such bad shape and we are missing the interior door trim so we are just doing the best we can with what we've got.
Please don't get us wrong, we love the original styling too. We hope
our unconventional choices will not cause us to be penalized too severely
at the Auburn meet.

If anyone else reading this has an opinion on our upholstery choice please
feel free to contact us.

Phillip & Elaine, I have a 37' Beverly that was originally "cool orchard green"(I think). Many years ago the car was wrecked and shoddily repaired, then painted maroon. The firewall however remained the original green, and was in pretty good condition. When I got the car I polished out the firewall to see what this color of green would look like. I kind of like it but can't imagine what the whole car would look like in this color. I've seen some green cords in pictures in the club gallery, but am never sure whether I'm looking at "cool orchard" green or "Ganges" green. I'm pretty sure "cool orchard" was not available in 1936 (only Ganges), but I'm no expert. I will say however that I once owned a 1950 Chevy pick-up that was very close to the same color of my Cord, and this color was very common on that vintage of Chevy trucks. I purchased some inside window garnish moldings for my car that I believe are "Ganges green", and I like this color too. It leans a little more toward olive green and it is correct for 1936. I would be interested in knowing what you find out because I need the same information when it comes time to paint my car. You'll find that there aren't too many green Cords in the picture gallery, so this would be a pretty uncommon color. Thanks Curt

Cord Exterior Paint Color 'Cool Orchard Green' was created by 1936 Cord Georgia
Hello - new to the ACD Club and to the Forum - grew up with Cords,
my father - Robert Goble of Ellijay GA - restored a 1936 Beverly and
has been to many meets over the years and I recently acquired a 1936
SC Cord Westchester 810 and am in the process of restoring it.

We are going to paint our Cord's exterior with the Auburn paint
color 'Cool Orchard Green' but would be very interested in seeing other
member's cars - especially Cords - who have chosen that same color and/or have information on the Cool Orchard Green paint color including where you obtained the paint, how it holds up over time, etc. Thanks.
