Thanks for the replies! I removed my water tubes by putting a rod through and driving out the soft plug. I did damage 1 of the tubes by doing this. If I had to do it again, I would try doing the vise grip method first. Oh well, live and learn So who sells the replacement tubes LOL!
Thanks
Dan

I pulled my tubes by prying up the edges and pulling them out with videgrips.
Before putting them back in I scraped the water passages of the block with a long screw driver and a piece of welding rod. I lifted the rust out with a magnetic on a flexible shaft. I got over 4 pounds of rust out of the block. I also put screens in the two outlet tubes.

To remove, take a 36" piece of 1/2" round bar and slide it into the tube from the open end. Tap this until the the freeze plug comes out of the block on the other end. You can then tap it out the other end (will not fit through the freeze plug end). I have seldom found a bad one, just need a little cleaning. They are different lenghts, and have notches to line back up.

Hi! I bought new tubes from Glen Pray back in the early '60s. The old ones came out surprisingly easy, and the new ones went in just as nicely. I'm not sure new ones were necessary, but as they were available, I put them in. Ric.

Can the water tubes through the block be removed and replaced without to much of a problem. And if so who has new ones?
Thanks
