Tail pipe minutiae

Russell, I have a 3/4 rear view of a Cord cabriolet taken outside the factory in Connersville (an early car) that clearly shows a chrome tailpipe tip that is cut off at a 45 degree angle & over-riders pointing down.

Can anyone tell me how Cord 812 tailpipes were finished when they left the factory?

Were they cut off perpendicular to the pipe or at an angle?

Wondering if I should get my hacksaw out.
