Another Cord Inspired Creation.

Hi Tom, after seeing your Rolls /Cord pictures recently I was surprised to find this.
In the latest Pre War Car magazine a rather odd looking car was featured that had been built by a pilot named Daniel La Lee in California around 1937.
The body featured retractable headlights which were no doubt inspired by the Cord as well as a retractable metal top, front wheel spats that turned with the wheels and a tail fin.
It had been constructed on a 1934 Ford chassis and had a supercharged V8 (no mention of the make) that could propel the projectile to 120 mph.
The main group of pictures were taken in February 1938 however the car ended up in Egypt in the 1940's. The group shot shows some of King Farouk's collection including the special.
I also found a picture of another La Lee creation that looked like an aircraft that had the wings removed but could not save or attach it.
