Mike, the "Modern 810 812 Cords" were fitted with a chain attached to the fuel tank cap to save it from being lost.
The didn't get around to the radiator cap.

I carry a piece of leather which is hooked onto one of the smaller rubber pads and stuffed into the space around the filler pipe so that it can be extracted and the cap and chain placed on it to protect the paint when filling the tank.

is a 810-812 gas cap the same as 34-36 Auburn ?

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

My solution for lost gas and radiator caps. When I remove either I always put them on the drivers side seat! Can't tell you how many times I went to get in and there is the cap that I would have forgotten if it hadn't been on the seat!
CORDially Mike
