Thanks Cort, yes it is almost ready for the road again. The restoration has taken eight years. It has moved along very slowly at times however I didn't want to cut corners but do the restoration properly. The Actonite Cord lives again in its original colours. I plan to put some videos on the car on You Tube.
She runs smoothly and changes gears like a dream.
Pity I can't drive her along to Connersville and Auburn.
Any rich benefactors out there ......................... HELP?

Cheers from Down Under
Terry

I recently restored a set of fog lamps with the fluted reflector shells for my Cord which is an early production car so I guess I have the correct lights. I played around with the globe focus adjustment which gave amazing results. The globes can be moved back and forth about 8 mm or 5/16"
Fully out gives a hazy round light pattern.
Half way gives a rectangular pattern
Completely back gives a flat strip light which I assume is idea for driving in the fog.
The garage door was about 16 feet from the lights.

Actually the light tested was not on the car at the time, hence the patters were all up too high.

One other point how were the fog lamps originally wired up?
With cables and grommets through the body or flexible metal conduit around the front of the body??????????
I opted to use stainless steel flexible conduit which looks great but was considerably more work.

I think the earlier fog king reflectors were fluted and the later ones were smooth. A word of caution. Before sending out the fog king shells to be replated, place the fog king tag where it belongs on top of the shell. You may find that the tag doesn’t completely cover the original fog king engraving on the shell. It will need to be filed off before sending the shells to the chrome plater.

Is there a preferred Fog King light reflector? I have two different kinds. One is smooth and one is ribbed. The ribbed reflector gives the lens a fluted look. The smooth does not. Or are they both correct. I know about the retainer ring and the fasteners used plus I know the painted line around the lens. I also know about the tag saying Cord Fog Light that needs to be placed on top where the Fog King imprinted writing is. Thanks for any help and guidance on this. Its very important to lots of members wanting to install and do it correctly.
