Handbrake Lever Clearances

I am wondering if other members have experienced problems with the hand brake lever clashing with the LH headlight cranking cable?
My Cord is an early production unit with Serial No 810 1586 A
I have had to make and fit a tapered spacer in the cranking cable coupling housing which is located behind the dash board. This offsets the cranking cable towards the kick panel allowing the hand brake lever to be pulled back without interfearing with anything.

The tapered spacer is 5 mm at the widest point and 2 mm on the opposite side.
It was difficult to get good pictures with the seat in position. The handbrake lever just clears the cranking cable.
