Starter motor bushes

I would guess they would be hard to make. They have a very thin wall thickness.

I understand the starter may have three bushes in it. One in both ends of the motor and one in the tailshaft housing. If you need to make any bushing I suggest using 660 bronze material.

Thanks for Stan’s number. I was hoping to get two bushes locally rather than wait for O/S delivery and have them ready for when I pull the starter.
Not a major problem, more one of time and convenience.

Terry, the only thing I’m sure of is that if I pull it apart every size bush will be available except the size I want !

Graham, I thought New Zealanders were resourceful people.
Make Do Specialists .......................... isolated from the rest of the world.
Can't tell you the sizes but you will be sure to find a substitute.

I want to replace the oilite bushes in my starter motor. Does anyone know the size of these bushes before I dismantle the starter then find I can’t get them down here in New Zealand ?.
