Thanks for that info. How much is a new sender. I think it pays to change it and eliminate one thing at a time.

The button on the fuel gauge changes the display reading from fuel level ( button not pushed) to oil level ( button held down). Both the gas tank and oil pan have similar senders. Grounding the wire from the sender should show a full reading. The gas tank sender is accessible from inside the trunk (unscrew small oval plate). I have modern replacement gas tank senders available if you need one. Many times the button is the reason for poor display and can be eliminated giving you only a gas tank reading.

Help with fuel gauge. I don’t get a reading all the time or one that’s accurate. I push the button on the gauge and sometimes it registers others not. Not accurate either. How does the gauge work and is there replacement sensors?
