That oil cap was sold for $405 US which equates to around $560 Aust.
Then there is around $50 postage on top of that.
I'm glad I made my own.

Yes he does and they are the REAL TREASURES associated with any Cord. Very easy to talk with or buy from. Never an issue. I have been buying from this seller for many years.

By a fluke I found some good pictures of an original Cord oil filler cap.
It is the same type as my blurred pictures.
There is a vent pressed in the base section.

I guess mine needs some rework. The photos I used were a bit blurred.

Hi Curt,
The Cord 810-812 did not have the two extra "spacers" on the bottom. They only had one.

It is my understanding that 34-36 Auburn and 810-812 Cord used the same oil filler cap. I have a couple in stock.

Mike they do share a few parts. Some that I have noted are the door lock striker plates and the rear spring shackles. No doubt there are others.

Auburn and L-29 Cord use similar caps if not the same.

Attached are some pictures of the cap I made. I was working from pictures of an original cap. Note the construction of the cap. It has two strips that are bent to form four legs. The legs are riveted to the top cap. The legs are brazed to a lower cap which has a hole and a disc welded to partially block the hole.
In the original the lower cap and disc are one piece in which the disc had been punched to open it.

You may be able to get the correct cap from Glen Pray in Oklahoma. I don't think Stan in Kansas has them anymore. I ended up making my own from photographs. I will post some pictures later today. There is a vent in the lower part of the cap which fits inside the oil filler pipe.

I did not realize that the smaller cap should be a rivet instead of a screw. From what I gather so far the lar4ger cap is wrong for a Cord.

All of the caps I have seen on cars on show in Auburn have a rivet and definitely do not have a screw holding it together. Your smaller cap has probably been modified.

I have never seen the cap on the left and believe its not correct. I believe the cap on the right is correct but will look at mine later today and confirm this.

Cord Oli Cap was created by pac32
I have 2 Cords that I am working on and they have different oil caps, see picture , The Cord that had the larger diameter cap on it is being converted from a 12 volt system with a alternator to a 6 volt system with a generator. That Cord is a 810 that has been modified with outside pipes and a round air cleaner similar to a supercharged air cleaner. My problem is with the generator on the car it pivots the oil fill tube over more towards the air cleaner and the oil cap hits. Is the larger cap incorrect for a Cord and also is the smaller cap avalible to purchase as this cap would fit fine.
