Thanks Mike. I knew it wasn't an 810 or 812 but having never worked on an L29 I just didn't know. Made a guess because of the mentioning this business has done all three Cord brake drum styles.

I looked over their work from the web site. They appear capable but the Cord brake drum is NOT from the pictured 36 or 37 Cord. Might be from the L29 Cord cars. I know very little about the L29 cars. If I needed my drum relined I probably would use them.

my brake pads were in excellent condition for the age the car was very rarely driven whit the typical issues saving it for posterity. The curious thing is the brake pads profile and spring hole locations were exactly like modern Bendix pads, I left the old pads on because they are in such common use. Check an auto parts house first, they are unseen, the only thing that might be different is the pad material I once changed brake pads in a car that did not have power brakes and I had bought metal composition pads for power brakes without knowing the pads are harder material as there much more line brake pressure in power brakes I also put pads so soft they melted in a power braked car. I am thinking a 50,s 60,s chevy sedan drum pad would interchange. Bendix, not 1936 Lockheed.

I used a well known shop in Long Beach Ca because I live near them. They removed my asbestos lining and replaced it with bonded lining. The turned the drums and arced the lining to match. I also had them rebuild my clutch and pressure plate along with cleaning up the flywheel. I recall the clutch cost was around $150.00 and $30 of that was the pilot bearing. Their workmanship and service was very good too. I know your on the other coast so shipping impacts the final cost.

has anyone had their brake drums relined by J & G Drum Relining LLC or anyone else for that matter. This company told me that have done cords before and I was curious if anyone could give me their experience and a ball park on cost. the person I'm talking to has not given me any idea on cost and I don't feel like send him a blank check.

any info would be appreciated.
