Checking the effective length of my 810 Cord dip stick from the flange down to the first mark is 6 - 1/4"
I suppose I should check the tube length on the sump too ..... I will follow up on this.
The tube length on the outer "longer side" is approximately 5 - 3/4" long.

Before you do that, is it the correct dip stick? Have you compared it to several other Cord dip sticks?

Hi, the Cord Service Manual says seven quarts but I'd keep an eye on the dip stick

oil capacity of Cord 810 crankcase was created by Normandie
This may appear to be an elementary question, but here goes. According to the Cord owner's manual the oil capacity in the Cord 810 crankcase is eight quarts. I've had ACD Cord owners tell me that correct capacity is seven quarts. I've also been told that the crankcase should be filled until it reads "full" on the dipstick, which may not be eight quarts.
I would like to hear what others think. I drive my Cord regularly so I want to be sure the the crankcase and transmission are properly filled. Thanks.
