Because the master cylinder is lower than the wheel cylinders you will need a residual pressure valve on the front and rear lines to maintain fluid pressure at the wheel cylinders. A 10 lb. one is recommended for drum brakes. Also should have a proportioning valve for the rear line to adjust in order to prevent the rear wheels from locking up before the front.

I converted mint to a dual chamber. I used a master cylinder from a 1969 Cougar. I believe Mustang is the same. I made a 3 bolt to 2 bolt adapter that fits on to the original mounting bracket. There is ample clearance to the rear cross member when assembled.

I'm a fan of dual chamber master cylinders for safety reasons. Has anyone converted their '36/'37 Cord from a single to dual chamber unit. If so, info on what substitute will bolt in easiest would be appreciated.
