Hi Sarah, obviously you live in New Zealand, welcome to the ACD Club.
Attached are diagrams that show how the headlights work.
The diagrams come from a book called,
Cord Service Manual, Model 810 and 812, which is available from the ACD Museum in Auburn, Indiana.

Hi all, new to these cool cars. Busily trying to get our car through compliance. I had to remove a headlight to fix a connection and now cant seem to get the light to wind completely down, is there a trick to how the wiring goes , seems to be fouling, any pics?
