I need new brake springs for a 12 cylinder Auburn and am not sure where to look for those. Neither Auburn Cord Parts nor ACD Co. seem to have them available. Short of taking springs to Napa and trying to match them is there a known source for these?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I bet Curt Schulz will have or know where to find them. He is listed in the directory.

I did the matching thing at NAPA for the 35-36 - the parts crossed over to some Corvette (unusually). I generally try to keep a spare set (and given the periodic problems people have via broken springs I would suggest same for you given your car is driven. Eric LaVine (or Vivian) of LaVine restorations may be a help if the salon cars use the same as the Custom series. Randy Ema restored a Custom not all that long ago for Jay Leno. Frank Cek is also very knowledgeable - perhaps more so to Salon V-12's. And you are probably looking for someone who has finished a Custom in not that distant past. Also, the parts book may be a help seeing if same as the 8 cylinder cars.

12 brake springs are not the same as 8 unfortunately. Thanks for the feedback guys - I'll keep asking around.

You might send samples to Fort Wayne brake and Clutch. Not sure if that is the exact name, but some one will know. They have been around a long time and I'm told have knowledgeable people.

I am leaning toward a call to Frank Cek - very V-12 savvy fellow. Also, there is a fellow who has a gold-ish/dark tan V-12 Custom Phaeton who I have not seen with their car at Auburn in two or so years (I think he is bringing a Duesnberg these days) and he is touring regularly and also very engineering minded.
