I would like to know how to properly re-intall the Cowl VIN Tag Plate, I've seen some attached with screws, Round Head, Philister Head, Pan Head, and some attached with regular pop rivets so what is the best or better way to do it? Car is a 1935 851; Thanks.

I believe all Auburn Cord or Duesenberg id plates were fastened by standard slot sheet metal screws. My 37 Cord is like whats shown on the 810 812 Cord section under the posting title...Should I buy it or not. The possible owner has posted an exact picture of the id plate.

Gary , My experience in examining original Cords is that attachment of Serial and CNC plates are properly by standard round head straight slot metal scres, and NOT rivets, Phillips head screws or other methods.
