Saw this the other day... was created by auburnandyscar

I was at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville last week and saw this.
The Woodlites look AWFUL on this style of car (in case any of you were ever curious) and at first I thought that someone had hacked an Auburn front onto a..... "whatever"
"BUT" the side pic has me thinking differently....
there was NO info with the car. (Owner, year, etc) I took these photos and moved on.

Check out my build at:

I believe you may well be correct , yorkgulch. The vehicle which auburnandyscar photographed at the Street Rod Nationals at Louisville last week is most likely a 1935 Auburn 851 hearse. Refer to the photo in AUBURN & CORD by Beck and Malks at Page 114. Note the 3 vertically stacked hinges on both side doors and the configuration of the window openings. The vent window appears to have been removed. Anyone wanting to track this car down might be able to learn the owner from the organizers of the rod event. This is pretty amazing. How many of these ambulances survive?? Jack Richards #1080 at Chesterfield, MO

Hello auburnandyscar , If this vehicle is a legitimate Auburn 851 or 852 hearse it rides on a 163 inch wheelbase versus the standard 127 inch for standard models. In the professional car trade a chassis stretch of 36" was pretty standard. Sorry you didn't leave a note on the car so that we could follow up on this interesting Auburn. Probably the Woodlites are worth more than he paid for the car. Maybe we will learn more with a bit of detective work, Thanks for this post, Jack Richards #1080 @ Chesterfield, Missouri.
