29 8-120 Phaeton Restoration Questions

Hi Bill, yes, have explored the Aussie option with ACD members - around $4000 for re-coring from Queensland. Thought there might be a reproducer in USA a bit cheaper or a spare out there somewhere. You are right regarding the 120 - I believe it is the only 120 in Aus and the only other close is a 8-115 Speedster under resto. Don't think I will have much luck with parts in Aus - I assume all handbrake assemblies would be similar though??

For the radiator, try Wings and Radiators in England. And there are several 8-120s, so the expertise and experience should be out there

Jason, have you been in touch with anybody from the Australian club? I don't know about the parts you need, but some one should be able to recommend a radiator specialist who could build a decent replica. There are no 120's that I know of in this club, but there are a number of '29s.(6/80's and 8/90's)

Hello again - was wondering if anyone could help me with a few questions. My 8-120 has been disassembled and being prepped for painting.

1. What colour was the chassis from the factory??

2. What would be a suitable black body colour for 29 Auburn?

3. My radiator has been deemed un-savable. Would anyone have a spare for sale or could point me to a company that replicates/makes new ones. Any advice would be appreciated.

4. Could any member provide me with detailed photographs of a 28,29,30 Phaeton interior for the reference of an upholsterer.

5. Could any members help me out with a wiper motor & blades, horn, steering wheel centre button, gear stick with knob, full handbrake assembly, accelerator linkages & fuel gauge.

I appreciate any help with the above and thanks in advance for your time.
