Hi,

I have sleeved several cylinders with brass, but now I send them out to www.brakeplace.com for sleeves done with stainless steel, plus new kits installed.

The decision to have a sleeve installed comes from whether or not the cylinder wall has been pitted by water damage. Honing will not take out pitting, and the alternatives are 1) a new cylinder, or 2) sleeving. If there is no pitting, then honing the cylinder and installing a new kit makes a good fix.

With brakes, two cylinders are better than one.

Mike. I've had pretty good luck just honing out the cyl, bench bleeding and install in car. Works great
