Thanks Dave!!!

If I've got this figured out right, this is the only 32 part on my otherwise 1931 car. I have a very well used 31 parts manual!
However, I might try the museum for the axle specs!

Looking at the drawing, the two springs look different by one coil. The upper spring looks longer. I don't know if it was intentionaly drawn that way but I would put the longer spring on top.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Brad, I believe the ACD museum sells the parts book for your car. I believe that would be a good investment for you.

Perfect!!!
Just to confirm, under quantity, it just shows one of each?
Is there a frame page illustration showing which of the upper or lower is longer
The short one apparently breaks! I have two broken short ones in my parts pile. I have two intact long ones, they don't seem to break.
Maybe its the way the car was driven given my bent front axle! My 'spare' axle is bent too.
Servce bulletin says to tighten nut right up and then back off 3.5-4 turns. THe extra washer that I have in there now won't hurt the springs but it would probably relocate the spring eye.

I have a 1932 parts book and it only shows the stud (D10037), upper spring (D4-87), lower spring ( D4-86), washer ( WD12), nut (NE12), and cotter pin (PA412). I had mine apart last year but I don't remember one spring being longer then the other. Doesn't mean mine is correct.
The stud is different between a 1932 and a 1933 Salon. The Salon stud number is D10327. Hope this helps. Dave

Help! Still trying to work this out. I think the spring sequence is obvious with the long one going on first.
Does anyone has a 32 parts manual to tell me how many flat( or probably WZ 'special) washers I need?
Maybe I can work it out from there. Don't want to put an extra washer in by mistake! Its either one or two. From the FSM set up instructions, it will make a difference how many I use.
Thanks
Brad

32 kick shackle assembly sequence? was created by Brad Hoskins
Okay Dad stripped the frame and made lots of detailed drawings except how to reassemble the kick shackle to frame
I'm thinking
- thick flat washer,
- then long spring
- then shackle
- then short spring
- then thick flat washer
- then castle nut.
This is s 31 frame with the service manual fix for shimmy so the 31 parts manual I have is no help!
Can anyone please confirm?
Thanks
Brad
