Before you remove the head buy some Kroil from Kano Labs and fill the cylinders. That stuff will cut thru anything. No need to force the pistons thru the rust.

It's almost time to take the engine out of my 1930 8-95 Cabriolet and have it rebuilt...if it needs it.
Has anyone done this recently, if so what was the cost...or can anyone recommend someone to rebuild the engine?

This isn't the best photo of the engine as it was taken when I first bought the car, but at least your get an idea of it's condition:
