It looks like the number you have pictured as the engine number is on the side of the block. I think the numbers are usually stamped on the surface the head bolts to. At least that is the case with 35-36 Auburn.

Sorry I can't help you with the numbers, I don't have the expertise yet. But WOW I am in love with that car! Beautiful!!!

If you're anywhere near Denver I'd like to come look at it please.

I took a few photos. This page also shows the engine number. At least I think it is the engine number. The tag near the drivers seat says that this is a GC engine. I am not sure what is in the car. Does this engine number make sense? Please advise. Not sure if this will work but you should be able to cut and paste the link below in your browser:

Thanks for all of the help. The tag on the floor drivers side has the GC engine code. On the front of the block I am seeing a nine digit stamped number. It is definately stamped and not cast. The number reads verticle. It starts with an S or an 8. It is hard to read. I cannot read all of the letters and numbers. I will put an X where I am not sure: S384xx. The next or last three digits could be GC1 or OO1 or CG1, I am not 100% certain. I see various casting numbers, manifold casting numbers etc. But I see no other stamped numbers. Any ideas?[/img]

It has been my experience, mostly through years of certification, that the S/n and body number tags, especially on open two seaters, are on the passenger side of car.

As far as Engine and frame numbers, Mason is correct. Please note that the number on the frame will be 1000 less than that which is stamped on the frame. Also, the Engine Number on a 8-105 salon should have a GC prefix.

I have aan 8-105 cabriolet also. The engine #s are on the block head surface, on the left front. The frame #'s are in the area behind the right front wheel, and are rather faint, and large.

1933 Auburn 8-105 Cabriolet was created by nickg112
I have found a 1933 8-105 Cabriolet. I found the tag on the drivers side floor with the model, serial and engine number. Where can I find the engine number on the engine and will it be the same as what is on the tag that I found? Also where is the body or serial number located on the frame? Any help or advice on authentication is appreciated.
