i would recommend you speak with the curator, Jon Bill at the ACD Museum. he has the original colour charts with the actual colour chips and also some with the original leather samples.

you could probably talke a look at the annual meet as the library is usually open then.....

best to call ahead and let him know what you will be looking for as he likes to be organized. ha ha.

CS,
Thanks for the reply. From the information there , it appears that very few
had contrasting belt lines or wheels for that matter.
Would a dealer modify a car to suit a buyer? Could a car be ordered from the factory with different color combos?
Let's hear some opinions.
thanks,
Dennis

Search Auburn, 1935, view color chart, on the link posted 1-19-09 by 1936cordgeorgia. Combinations and color charts are there.

Auburn paint ? was created by Dennis Long
Hello,
I am getting ready to paint my '35 851 Phaeton. The original color was
"burnt rust". I am not too fond of the name but I do like the color.
I have seen many Auburns that were two-toned along the body belt lines
and I love the way this looks. I must wonder though how many cars were actually sold this way. Any thoughts?
I realize that Auburns do not have a paint code, However are there acceptable or listed color combinations for two -tones? Paint charts?
Thanks for your input.
Dennis
