Where do you see the leak, in the back of the engine? I found a real nasty one that turned out to be the spring-bolt on the side of the S/C "bee hive" That needs a copper crush washer....

Hi Ralph:
There is no oil seal in the rear main. You have either the wrong spring in the OP relief valve or too many spacers. Maybe no oil drain tube.
Give me a call 715-262-3183 I can talk you through a couple of different fixes.

Is this a suppercharged car? I found on my suppercharged Auburn that the exaust manifolds are so close to the valve covers that the heat cooked the gaskets and sealer I used on the valve covers and they started leaking. To solve the problem I made a metal plate with modern 1/8" muffler wrap rivited on between the exaust manifold and valve covers. I attached it with the existing manifold studs. I also used copper RTV on the valve covers for its high heat resistance. The problem I can't seem to lick is the leak I have from the tach. drive where the cable attaches. I tried a 'O' ring with no success. Any one have some other ideas.

Auburn 852 Oil Leak was created by executivehouse
Quick question and I hope an easy fix. I recently purchased a 1936 852 that runs and drives great. One issue. After going for a drive I pull her in the driveway and turn her off. She then leaks oil like crazy. I have pulled the pan, resealed and put back on, but that does not stop it. My wife can't take the oil stains and is threatening me.... Please any ideas....
Thanks
