Ken you are right on. the real easy thing to use is a modified oil filter remover.
size it so it wil colapse slightly, then with 2 people,1 holds it down firmly, the other turns.

I attached a pull line to the bottom of the old wire before I removed it. That way I could use the line to pull in the new wire.

I think you have the same as my 32 8-100A. I believe the horn button unscrews form the steering wheel, I believe then you will be able to see the wire you are talking about. You should then be able to disconnect it from the other end and pull it up through the steer column.
You may need to make a clamp of some nature ( I made a big metal compressible ring ) to loosen mine. lefty loosy-righty tighty

I would like to replace the wire that works the horn . Is there any one who can walk me thru the process for removing the horn assembly and steering wheel ...if needed 1931 8 98A Sedan
