No I don't Mark, this is what I seek. There must have been someone there from the club that found it interesting.

Curt: Do you have any pictures of this car?
I'd love to see the engine compartment.

So now, the question still remains; does anyone know anything about the yellow speedster that was auctioned at Branson that has no side pipes.

No, it and the Branson one are two different cars. I don't know where or when he got it back. I was talking to a Canadian friend who knows him last night and posed the question. He said yep, he has it back.

OK, so Robert Pass got his speedster back. Was it the one Curt is asking about, from the Branson Auction?? Or did he buy it back directly from O'Quinn? Not clear so far in this thread.

Good for him. He'd been suffering sellers remorse for awhile.

It was. Kind of a yuckey, mustard yellow.

It seems then, that the car that was auctioned at Branson is a different car.
I always thought that the Bob Pass car was yellow.

Yes, it was the Bob Pass car. It had side pipes, but absolutely nothing else that would indicate it was a supercharged car.

Certainly I remember you. You were the one that gave me the history of the black Sport coupe, and the convertible sedan.

Bill, I remember our conversations. You must have dealt with allot of people working in the that capacity. I didn't think you remembered me.
So then, did the yellow speedster that you got the s/c parts for have the side pipes?

I know you sold us the parts. I was the one you dealt with for the info, and then you would have to go to Lolly for the finances. As far as I know she is still there.

The car may have sold in Branson recently, but O'quinn sold it at a David Gooding auction.

I told Bob Pass about the supercharger parts. He may have bought them by now, maybe not.

He also said that if he got the car back, for driving enjoyment he would probably not install the supercharger.

Bill, are you saying John owned the yellow car that was sold at the Branson auction? I sold Classy Classic Cars the s/c parts. I'll bet the person that bought the car would really like to have those parts.

Is Lolly H. still there? She was plea sent to deal with.

After OQuin aquired the car, some time after, he bought a base supercharger. He wanted me to install it. I told him if he doubled what he paid for the supercharger we may have enough parts to install a supercharger.

Some of the guys here were very helpful in the search for parts.

Finally, after all the parts were located, they sold the car. I don't know why they did that, and I don't know why they didn't sell it back to Bob Pass, cause was suffering from seller's remorse, and wanted the car back.

I had to buy every thing, even the timing cover and supercharger drive.

We all know how slippery auction write ups can be.

You are right about that Mike, believe none of it!
I find it strange, even if the engine was replaced with a GG engine, why not put the headers and pipes back on? Why would they alter the front fender and the hood? not to mention the exhaust and other misc. stuff.
Does any one know where the car ended up?

I have not seen the car but the Auction write up referes to it not having a "blower or outside exaust headpipes". There coment about the engine itself "Its combination of powerfil engine (the standard Lycoiming eight had 115 horsepower) with a competent chassis..... Earlier in the write up it states that all Speedsters had the Lycoming supercharged GH engine that is but one, this car. If I read between the lines it tells me that it has the standard engine. We all know how slippery auction write ups can be.

Personally I have never seen that car before. I am curious if it actually is supercharged with the correct (RARE) exhaust manifold like the one in the black coupe. Maybe it will show up at Auburn some day.

I will have to respectfully disagree with you on this being the Bob Pass car. The Pass car has side pipes and its serial no. is 33206E. The car me are speaking of has a serial no. of 8512988E as given to me by the auction Co. and of course no pipes. I realize that is not a complete no.

Curt: That's the former Bob Pass speedster that was purchased by the late Texas collector.
It would be pretty easy to change it back to a s/c configuration.

I called the Auction Co. and they said it was well known by the ACD Club. I called "The Boss" and he was not aware of such a car.

Did any one put their nose up the tail pipe of that yellow speedster that went through the Branson auction last fall? The one sans outside pipes.
